Spanish baby names in Philipines are common?

Are there people named, for example, Carlos, Felipe, Mar铆a, Fernando,Juana, Juan... ? Common names in Spain.

yes, there are many spanish names in the philippines, because of the spanish missionaries that settle there many years ago. they also have a lot of spanish words in the tagalog vocabulary

My best friend is Filipino and she and her siblings have Spanish names. Her last name also starts De La which is Spanish.





So yes, because of the history of the Philippines, many do have Spanish names.
Reply:Many of the people native to the Philippines are of Spanish descent . Two of my sons married Filipino women. One of thems last name was Santos. I doubt that was a Tagalog surname.

Reply:Yes, because the Philippines were conquered by the spainards for 300 years. So there is a lot of spanish influence.
