What are 5 last names that aren't too common, but still common?
Thrash, Kellum, Hayes, Powers,Revels - these are all people I know.The strangest real surname I have ever heard was Muckinfuss,,,,,,,,,,I swear I knew these people and the name is real.

I just flipped through the phone book and took the first five names I saw that fit your criteria. They all happen to be English or Scottish, so if you want you characters to have different ethnicities, you'll probably have to find some last names that are a bit less common.
