What are common names of weather phenomena?

Nearly all weather is phenomenon, and I'm not trying to be vague or rude.


There are multiple factors that go into the making of a cloud alone. So when you get a Low pressure system that dumps flooding rains on one part of the country and a blizzard pummels the other part of the country from the same system, that is weather phenomenon.


A tornado is probably at the top of most people's lists. It's cliche- but no one really knows what how a tornado forms, what's inside, etc...


Another big phenomenon is a hurricane. Yea, scientists figure 'em out, and track 'em, but they still cause mass devestation. That is phenomena.


As mentioned above, lightning is a definite phenomena. And yes, scientists have given educated guesses and make lightning strike their poles. But the exact source and cause of it is unknown. The list is endless.

What are common names of weather phenomena?
La Nina and El Nino El Nino brings storms to the southren part of California and La Lina brings storms to the Northwest and in 1997 98 that was a strong el nino epsiode. La nina is the oppiste of El Nino.
