What is an example of the common name and the chemical name for a pure substance with atoms composed of 29 protons? I think one is copper/ Cu but which is the common name, and which is the chemical name? Thanx!

Wat is an example of the common name %26amp; the chemical name for a pure substance w/ atoms composed of 29 protons?
Common name...Copper...with two chemical names... Copper (I) (Cuprous copper with a Valence of 1) and, Copper (II) (Cupric copper (Valence of 2).

(The word 'Copper' comes from the Latin 'Cuprum'. Hence Cuprous and Cupric).

Examples: Copper oxides:

a)..Cuprous oxide is Copper (I) oxide as Cu2O....

2 x Cu(+1) + 1 x O(-2).

b)..Cupric Oxide is Copper (II) oxide as CuO...

1 x Cu(+2) + 1 x O(-2).
Reply:Copper-2.

Reply:How do you know my name?!?!
